About

Tatiana Mavromati is an Athens based photographer and educator. Her photographic work focuses on urban landscape and culture, migrant communities, gender issues.

Her first book I dreamed of the city: It was a fine day and I wanted to go for a walk (2010) was about her impressions during her stay in the U.K, mostly in Cardiff and London. Her second book But I am The exile (2012) was about Bassam and his friends, Palestinian migrants living in Athens, and Zohra, a Tunisian woman, also a migrant living in Athens. Her project Show me what you got has been included in the book Bring the Noise, 15 texts about hip hop (2018).

Her photographs have features in Greek and international newspapers and magazines. She has participated in solo and group exhibitions in Greece and abroad.

She began her career in the photographic community of Photography Circle in Athens (2004). She then went on to develop her documentary practice at the University of South Wales, graduating with an MA in Documentary Photography (2010). She also holds a University degree in Civil Engineering (2003) and a MA in History and Philosophy of Science (2006).

Since 2010 she has taught photography in various public and private settings in Athens. She also is a member of Hans Lucas since 2019.
